Generative Engine Optimization

Get named by the AI your customers ask.

Generative Engine Optimization, or GEO, is how ambit gets your business named when someone asks ChatGPT, Google's AI, Perplexity or Claude for a recommendation. We make your business the kind of entity these engines trust and can resolve: clean, machine readable pages that answer the exact questions buyers ask, a consistent identity across the web, and placements on the third party pages the engines actually cite. Then we measure the result as share of voice, the percentage of real buyer questions where you get named, and move that number month over month. It is the discipline of being the recommended answer, not just a link on page one.

How do you get a business cited by ChatGPT?

Citation is a pipeline, and a business has to clear every stage. First the page has to be crawlable and present in the index the engine reads: ChatGPT builds its candidate pool from Bing, Google's AI from Google, Claude from Brave. Being in Google alone is not enough. Second, the content has to be written in the language buyers actually use to ask, with a direct answer near the top, because the strongest single driver of citation is how closely a page matches the phrasing of the question. Third, the business needs a consistent identity across its site, its profiles, and the directories that describe it, so the engine can resolve it as one real entity. Fourth, and most important for smaller businesses, it needs to appear on the third party best-of and comparison pages the engines lean on, because those list pages, not homepages, are where most citations actually come from.

What is the difference between GEO and SEO?

SEO earns you a position in Google's traditional blue links. GEO earns you a mention inside the AI generated answer that increasingly sits above them and, for many questions, replaces them. The two share a foundation, and we do both, but they are won differently.

How is GEO measured?

By share of voice. We take the real questions your customers ask AI assistants, run them across the engines, and count how often you get named versus your competitors. That gives one honest number you can watch, reported on a regular cadence and moved month over month. It is not a vanity ranking and it is not a promise of position one. It is the percentage of the conversations that matter where you are part of the answer.

Questions

Common questions about GEO.

How do you get a business cited by ChatGPT?

By making the business crawlable and indexed in the backend the engine reads (ChatGPT draws candidates from Bing), writing pages in the language buyers actually use to ask, keeping the business identity consistent across the web, and earning placements on the third party best-of pages the engines cite most.

What is the difference between GEO and SEO?

SEO earns a ranking in Google's blue links. GEO earns a mention inside the AI generated answer that increasingly sits above them. We do both. GEO is simply where the gap and the opportunity are largest right now.

How is GEO measured?

By share of voice: the percentage of the real questions your customers ask AI assistants where you get named, compared with competitors. It is a concrete number we report and move month over month.

How long does GEO take to show results?

Technical foundations go live within weeks. Share of voice builds over the first few months as the off-site authority AI trusts compounds. It is durable growth, not an overnight trick.
